This last trip for 2017 was a spur of the moment, “My husband doesn’t know what to get me for Christmas trip. “
Literally, I called Gene after he had been missing in action in search of Christmas gifts for over 6 hours ………..of course I could feel his pain I could hear his pain, so to ease the pain I said ,” Why don’t we go to the beach for a couple of days for my gift?” The sigh of relief was palpable even through the phone, his anxiety lifted and we packed our bags. Off we went to the beach for 2 days. Turned out to be a great trip. If you ever get the chance to visit the Gulf Coast of Texas in the winter even if it’s only for 2 days-DO IT , it's just a beautiful time of year. If you go I can pretty much guarantee you some pleasantly, peaceful empty beaches. Here are a few highlights and places I recommend but have fun exploring the area for yourself. Food, food, mmmmmm#goodfood
Snoopy's is iconic- it is beyond good when it comes to fish and chips. Almost everyone I know in Texas has been to or wants to go to Snoopy's. Once you've been there is no NOT going back...............www.snoopyspier.com/
More good food.................
But if you are in the mood for tacos then Iries Island Food is the place to be on Port A. Too delicious for words. iriesislandfood.com/
What to do............
Relax, chill and walk on some of the most beautiful beaches Texas has to offer.www.visitcorpuschristitx.org/see-and-do/beaches/surf-park-north/
Ahhhh.............this is truly good for the soul. J.P Luby Beach is my favorite.
Check out the local sights or just watch the dolphin swim by.Or visit the Botanical Gardens in Corpus Christi.
The botanical Gardens in Corpus Christi is a 180 acres plot of beauty nestled in a pretty big bustling city. It’s a nonprofit and well worth the $8 entrance fee. See some beautiful; gardens, birdwatch at the bird tower, take stunning pictures in the rose garden or just wander around and enjoy the beauty of the place.

This was a short but to be cliché yes it was a sweet trip. This area is perfect to see and do so much or NOT. We chose to walk on the beach, eat good food and see a few sites. #perfectforus
I hope you visit and enjoy this area as much as we did. Y'all enjoy!!! Bernie PrestaFull time educator- wanna be travel blogger. Exploring our world one trip at a time.
